Modernism was a time when everything was falling apart it was dated from 1910 till 1910 to 1939 .After that time a lot of artist which where categorized as modern artists . Modernism can be described also as a state of mind not a historical period its not restricted to anytime frame. Modernism was radical redaction of the past like moral traditions and artistic tradition. It was movement to embraced the new the experimental it can be described as a cult of the new.

Modernism looked to a future artificial rapped technological process .But with the beginning of world war 1 people lost faith in the profess of the modernists .After the war the world became more fragment and everything was breaking down. The roots of modernism started from the Victorian era technological advances in architecture and design. Industrial martial gave a boost to modernism. Human kind was reaching never before goals. Modern design applied to all form of creative expressions .It was the age of the ISISMS .

Architectures had the possibility to include concrete glass and steel in the design of their buildings they thought function was an important aspect combined by its form.

Two famous designers than where categorized as modernists where Charles and Ray Eames
Charles and Ray Eames were American designers who got married to each other in 1941. Hand-in-hand they worked together on creating fun, exciting designs which solved a problem. Their career as designers started out by creating furniture designs for major American companies such as Polaroid, IBM, and Boeing. Their main aim was to help companies as such to make comprehensible to the public the comapny itself and its products. The Eameses’ involvement in creating functional furniture grew out of the equalitarianism  of the Great Depression.

Charles and Ray Eames only took on projects which abided to their morals and with companies who shared the same goals as them. They challenged themselves into producing affordable, fine quality furniture and economical and well-designed products ideal  for both domestic and industrial use. In Collaboration with the companies they worked on creating solutions to these problems and tackled it in a modern, corporate way.
After World War II most countries in the world were still recovering from the debts and damages done during the war years. Charles and Ray Eames took it upon themselves to create visually striking yet inexpensive products which could be afforded by the general public. Apart from designing their own house, they designed chairs, tables, storage units and sofas using materials such as plywood, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, wire mesh and aluminium.

During that period, buildings were colourful without being tacky, liberal without being threatening. The Eameses’ combined their own fancy and playfulness into their designs. Their collagist aesthetic of arranged and neat clutter became their signature.
Their pieces were successful because they were functional and up to date with the changing times. A single piece such as a chair could be used for domestic, office or even institutional use.  Charles Eames believe that in order to make a great designs such as their famous Lounge Chair  and the Aluminium Chair, one has to keep in mind the consumer’s needs as well as the companies’ needs and its aesthetic quality. With designs as such the Eameses made an important contribution to modernizing life in the United States after World War II.

Modern didn't  really changed it still evolves through our life’s . As long as there is new technology followed by simple lines and honest materials modern design continues to flourish .
